Today Ireland’s being asked to decide who’ll become the 10th President of Ireland and whether we should remove blasphemy from the constitution.
While us mere mortals head to the polls to cast our vote, the dog world has been deciding in their thousands on their favourite Presidential hopeful but it’s clear current President Michael D Higgins and his two hounds Bród and Shadow are tipped to reclaim their doghouse.
The dog-owners of Ireland have been sharing snaps of their pooches outside polling stations across the country under the hashtag #dogsatpollingstations. The owners have been quizzing their pooches on whether Liadh or Gavin gets their bone and it’s clear Miggeldy is top dog amongst the pooches.

The hashtag may upset other candidates hoping to secure a presidential victory. Earlier in the week businessman, and controversy-magnet Peter Casey released a clip questioning why Miggeldy doesn’t own two dogs of an Irish breed and claimed they were costing the Irish people €10,000 in grooming charges.
