Last January Ireland wept with laughter when Derry Girls came into our lives. The brilliant coming of age television comedy perfectly captured the struggles of growing up as a teenager under the shadow of the troubles in ’90s Derry.
The last time we saw the DG gang, Orla was performing her big number to Madonna’s ‘Like A Prayer’, Claire came out, the wee English fella was being the wee English fella, Michelle insulted somebody and Erin became the editor of the school paper.
The final moments of the show were some of its strongest work as the camera cut to Erin’s family watching a bombing as the girls and James help Orla finish her performance.
As the second series began filming in October, fans have been speculating on what’s next for the Derry girls and the wee English fella.
Never one to shy away from the fandom, Nicola Caughlan, who plays Claire, shared a bunch of ‘fake’ spoilers for the upcoming series on her Instagram and Twitter and it’s definitely not what you’d expect:

We can sleep soundly knowing Michelle won’t join the KKK but will she learn how to fly a spaceship? We’ll have to wait until 2019 to find out.
