The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina was released just days ago and fans of the original were quick to draw comparisons to the OG Sabrina.
One group of people we didn’t expect to have an opinion on the reboot of Sabrina The Teenage Witch was the original cast.
Yes, Aunt Hilda, Zelda, Harvey, and Sabrina sat around and discussed what they thought of the magic show which has taken a dark departure from the ’90s camp spectacle.
Surprisingly, Melissa Joan Hart, the original Sabrina, loved the reboot and admitted she thought it was better than the original but didn’t want her kids to know that.
Although Harvey and Sabrina were fictional characters, we couldn’t help but goo at the chemistry between Nate Richert and Melissa as they reacted to the show. At one stage Richert’s sneakily scares Melissa and it was like being transported back to 1998 – be still my beating heart.
Meanwhile, Caroline Rhea and Beth Broderick, who played boss aunts Hilda and Zelda, agreed that the new Salem was better than the “alcoholic rabbit wearing a hairpiece” Salem of the ’90s. Rhea appreciated that the new Sabrina was “political” and “empowered”.
Check out the full reaction below and if we probably don’t need to tell you to catch up with the new series of Sabrina on Netflix:
Ps. Fingers crossed the reaction video is Netflix’s way of letting us know they’ll be adding all the original Sabrina episodes and TV movies to the streaming service soon.
