Fyre’s Andy King Breaks Silence On ‘Taking One For The Team’ For Water

If you haven’t already watched Netflix or Hulu’s documentary on Fyre Festival then I suggest you go do that before reading this article. Trust me, you’ll want to know what’s going on.

After watching the Fyre documentary, there was only one thing on my mind after the entire failure of a festival went down. Was Andy seriously prepared to sell himself in order to save the shitshow that was Fyre festival, and protect the man (Billy) who put so many people through misery??

Apparently, he was. The man showered, got dressed, drank some mouth wash, hyped himself up and cried on the way to the other side of the Island in order to get some bottled water.

Let’s back up a little bit. So, Andy came over to join the Fyre team in order to help his dear friend Billy out who was having a bit of trouble trying to pull off the “Richie Rich” festival of the decade.

In the documentary, King goes into detail about what he was asked to do out of desperation.

Billy called Andy up to ask him for a big favour, but who would’ve guessed what kind of favour that was. There was a lorry that was filled with Evian water on its way over to the festival that was meant to quench the masses. Of course, due to the lack of distribution of money, the lorry was stopped by custom regulations and not let through as they were owed 175,000 from Billy already.

This obviously put Billy in a position to make some kind of sacrifice to get this water across. Nope, he didn’t spare a few yachts, or jet skis or anything worth a bit of bob – he rang up his ‘gay leader’ friend and asked him to do the unspeakable in order to get the water across. To tell the story, we have replaced a certain word with “bleep” but you guys can read between the lines.

King, Fyre’s event promoter, described the phone call in the documentary: “Billy called and said, ‘Andy, we need you to take one big thing for the team. And I said, ‘Oh my gosh, I’ve been taking something for the team every day.’”

“He said, ‘Well, you’re our wonderful gay leader and we need you to go down, will you suck “bleep” to fix this water problem?’ And I said, ‘Billy, what?’ And he said, ‘Andy, if you will go down and “bleep” Cunningham’s “bleep”, who is the head of customs, and get him to clear all of the containers with water, you will save this festival,”

Who would want the weight of a doomed festival on their shoulders. Clearly not Billy.

You’d think at this point, “Oh he’s not going to do that. What has Billy done for him other than bring him into this mess?” But nope. The King agreed and made his way down to customs.

In the end, he wasn’t made to do the deed, and Cunningham let him take the water.

But what really has grabbed social media’s attention is the fact that Andy was willing to make this sacrifice for his friend and to save the non-existent future of Fyre. Although quite disturbing, it’s also quite moving that this lovable, kind-hearted guy was really prepared to take one for the team.

He’s also been suggested to be a spokesperson for Evian water, with people editing him into evian ads.

Netflix has now released an interview with the man of the hour, Andy King, discussing the fact that he has become an international “me me”.

Andy apparently isn’t on social media and had no idea about ‘trending’ until a friend explained it to him.

He said he is “blown” away by the response.

Andy, being the admirable guy he is, used the interview to plug the GoFundMe pages that have been set up for the Islanders who have not yet been paid, including Maryanne and the hundreds of labourers who were hired in the last few days leading up to the festival.
